Since the products fit a wide range of models and may slightly differ from a genuine one, on your first try at installation, you may see your rubber a few centimetres longer. Please do not cut it on your first try. The key is the push and compresses the rubber and make sure you tighten the seal gently pushing up to corners, all the way around the door aperture (you can hammer it into place with a rubber mallet if necessary)
Then once you ensure that you install the seal tightly, you can trim it down to the correct size to connect the edges. This is to avoid any trimming before tightening the rubber sufficiently.
SELF-ADHESIVE SEAL INSTALLATION (ON DOOR)
The cleaner the surface, the longer the seal lasts. The application surface should be as smooth as possible. We always recommend our customers ensure that they cleaned the application surface, ensuring that it is free of any oils, dust and debris. The seal might last longer and fit perfectly if the surface is completely clean.
Our products come with a 3M surface cleaner sachet (a mix of isopropyl alcohol and water or heptane). Please do not use it to clean the surface as it is needed to be used right before the application on a clean surface to obtain optimum adhesion.
IMPORTANT!
The most common problem with factory-made seals on many vehicles starts falling off from the bottom of the door (see picture), so please ensure the bottom of the door is as clean as before the application. The weather condition may also affect the efficiency of the installation. Please note that the cold weather condition is the main reason that the seals fall off easily because adhesive tapes lose their function in low temperatures. To avoid that, we advise buyers to warm the surface and the seal with a heat gun or a hair dryer before the application.
